The story behind the beat has it that on a recent trip to South America, Mos linked up with well-known Brazilian rapper MV Bill, who gave him a tape with “Casa Forte” by BANDA BLACK RIO on it. Blown away by the song, Mos came home joined forces with DJ Preservation and Dante Smith to chop sample and beat is born. Great sample, great song, and the promise of a new Mos Def album. June 9th.
