Meet Stalley, an aspiring young football hopeful turned conscious word-player, who is creating quite the buzz in the hip hop scene. Having already gotten stamps of approval from hip hop notables such as Mos Def and Black Thought from The Roots, Stalley is anxiously awaiting to bum rush the scene and make his mark. He is affiliated with Mickey Factz and the GFC Network, which can only mean great things for this young lyricist. For his second mixtape, MadStalley: The Autobiography, he gives you his life story over re-imagined Madlib productions. Dope.

Parkdale Youth Festival

There are a lot of great art and culture events coming up throughout September. Were going to do our best to post the ones we know of on here to spread the word.

The fifth annual Parkdale Youth Festival happens on Saturday September 19th, 2009 around the Parkdale Town Square (Queen Street and Cowan Avenue) from 12pm to 8pm. The focus for 2009 is to “Initiate and Educate” the youth of Parkdale, and the surrounding communities within Toronto, by providing workshops, performances, and interactive installations that are programmed by youth for youth. This year brings forth a renewed interest in the arts, encompassing music, painting, writing, reading, photography, dance, theatre, and other forms of performance works and artistry.

The video is a refreshing splash of colors, swagger and videography and is the second single off Cudi’s much anticipated album ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day’ slated for a early Fall 09 release.

We’re just a few weeks into our Puntland Pirates project and we’ve already raised $400 for education programs being run in Puntland Somalia. Our goal for the year is $10,000 and we have lots in store to get there. If you would like to get involved, the first step is to buy one of our Pirates of Puntland shirts. $20 from each shirt goes to Unicef Somalia.
